Deleting your account

The short version Sign in, open your account and press “Delete my account” — in the Nextstep4u app or on the website. Or email . We delete the account within 30 days. Payment records and receipts are kept for eight years, because tax law requires it.

This page is for the Nextstep4u Android app and the website nextstep4u.in. Both are run by , trading as Nextstep4u, and both use the same account.

How to ask

In the app or on the website

Sign in to the Nextstep4u app, or at nextstep4u.in, with the account you want deleted.
Open My account.
At the bottom, under Delete my account, press Delete my account. Read what happens, then press Request deletion.

The account page then shows the date we received your request.

By email

If you cannot sign in, email from the email address on your account, or say which mobile number you signed in with, and ask for your account to be deleted. You do not need to give a reason. Before we delete anything we may ask you to confirm the request from that address or number, so that nobody else can delete your account.

What is deleted

Your profile — your name, email address and mobile number.
Your sign-in — the account held by our sign-in provider, Supabase, including any Google sign-in linked to it. You can no longer log in.
Your tests — every attempt, your answers and timing, your results and analysis, and any free result you saved to the account.
Your job-alert profile — the details you gave for job alerts, if you signed up for them.
Your resume — any resume you uploaded.

What is kept, and for how long

Payment records and receipts — each order, payment, refund and receipt, and the accounting entries that record them. Kept for eight years, because Indian tax and accounting law requires it. They are kept for that reason only and are not used for anything else.
The audit record — our record of actions on the account, such as a purchase, a refund and this deletion request: who did what, and when. Kept for as long as the payment records it explains, eight years, because it is how those records are shown to be genuine.

Anything you have bought ends with the account. It is not refunded unless the refund policy covers it.

How long it takes

We delete the account within 30 days of receiving your request. You can keep using the account until then. If you change your mind, email us before it is done.

Once it is deleted it cannot be brought back. If you sign up again later, you get a new, empty account.
